A well-known coffee shop in Thunder Bay, Ontario welcomed two prominent Canadian figures on Thursday. Prime Minister Mark Carney and musician Bryan Adams made appearances in the city and decided to explore some local landmarks together. One of their stops included The Persian Man, where they indulged in Thunder Bay’s renowned pink-frosted pastries known as persians. Danny Nucci, the vice president of Bennett’s Bakery Ltd. and The Persian Man, described the visit as a unique and unforgettable experience. Nucci mentioned that while he had hosted politicians from various parties before, having both a Prime Minister and Bryan Adams visit was extraordinary.
The news of the visit had initially been kept under wraps, but rumors spread, leading to a buzz around the town. Despite the supposed secrecy, the pair’s presence at the cafe surprised many, with the Prime Minister engaging in conversations and taking photos with both customers and staff. Carney’s visit to Thunder Bay was to announce funding for new Via Rail cars to be manufactured in Canada, while Adams had a scheduled performance at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium later that evening.
In addition to their cafe visit, Carney and Adams were seen admiring the view and capturing moments at Thunder Bay’s Terry Fox Monument. Thunder Bay-Rainy River MP Marcus Powlowski shared on Facebook that the duo came together to pay homage to the iconic Canadian figure, Terry Fox. Powlowski also clarified in his post that for those who may not recognize him, the other person in the photos was indeed Bryan Adams.
