“Russian Missile Attack Kills 10 in Ukrainian Village”

A village in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region was struck by a Russian missile attack on Tuesday, resulting in the death of 10 individuals, as confirmed by Ukrainian authorities. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack, stating that it targeted a bustling area in Pechenihy, Kharkiv region, which included essential facilities like a post office and stores surrounded by residential buildings. Zelenskyy shared images of the devastation caused by the attack, showing destroyed buildings, burning cars, and emergency responders aiding injured individuals.

Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported that apart from the fatalities, 17 people sustained injuries in the assault. The strike caused extensive damage, affecting 10 private buildings, a café, a post office, a store, and at least seven cars in the village.

While there was no immediate response from Russia regarding the attack, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office revealed that Russia allegedly utilized two small Banderol cruise missiles in the assault. Local sources indicated that the missile strikes primarily targeted the central part of the village, where key establishments such as the café, post office, and shops were located.

In a significant development, Ukraine launched a large-scale drone offensive targeting Moscow and its environs, deploying 620 drones in the early hours of Tuesday. Moscow’s Mayor Sergei Sobyanin acknowledged that Russian forces managed to down 180 drones over the Moscow region, with emergency services attending crash sites. The drones inflicted damage on various facilities near Moscow, including a warehouse belonging to the Russian e-commerce company Wildberries.

Additionally, several Russian-controlled regions, including Crimea, experienced heavy drone attacks from Ukraine. The Crimean peninsula’s largest power supplier, Krymenergo, reported that southern districts faced power supply disruptions due to the drone assaults, leading to challenges in delivering power to multiple regions.

Furthermore, Russia issued a warning to Britain, cautioning about consequences for allegedly supplying drones to Ukraine for attacks on Russian territory. The Russian embassy in London responded to reports of British-made drones being used in strikes against Russia, emphasizing that London’s involvement in the conflict could result in repercussions.

Britain’s Defence Ministry refrained from confirming the use of British drones in the attacks, emphasizing its support for Ukraine against the Russian invasion. As part of a funding package, Britain pledged to provide 150,000 drones to Ukraine by the end of 2026 to aid in its defense efforts.
