“NBA Denies Allegations of Salary Cap Violation by Clippers Owner”

The NBA is refuting assertions in a recent ESPN report regarding the examination of Los Angeles Clippers proprietor Steve Ballmer. According to ESPN’s Monday publication, three sources disclosed that the NBA did not discover any proof indicating that Ballmer utilized team sponsors to compensate Kawhi Leonard illicitly and surpass the salary cap. The report suggests that the NBA is investigating whether the Clippers’ introduction of Leonard to team sponsors breaches the league’s regulations against circumventing the salary cap. NBA representative Mike Bass contradicted the ESPN article in a statement released on Monday, stating that it contains numerous inaccuracies. Bass affirmed that the results of the NBA’s inquiry will be disclosed upon its conclusion. A trade between the L.A. Clippers and the Toronto Raptors involving Leonard has been postponed pending potential league sanctions.
