Two teenage boys were apprehended following an incident where a young girl was allegedly coerced into a vehicle at a Tesco parking lot. The suspects, aged 15 and 17, were taken into custody on suspicion of false imprisonment by Essex Police. They were subsequently released on bail as the investigation continues.
The occurrence transpired around 6:50 pm on August 3 at the Tesco car park on Minton Lane. Subsequently, the vehicle proceeded to Epping, where the girl claimed to have disembarked in Buckingham Road, near the junction with Lower Swaines, at approximately 7:30 pm.
Authorities expressed gratitude to the public for aiding in the inquiry and urged anyone with relevant information, CCTV footage, or dashcam recordings to come forward. DS Paul Marks assured the community that, based on current findings, there appears to be no imminent danger to the general public. The victim is receiving support from specialized officers as the investigation progresses.
