A man carrying a significant amount of weaponry was apprehended at the golf course owned by Donald Trump in California just prior to a scheduled fundraising event hosted by the President. Identified as Jeanine John Taele, 38 years old, he was taken into custody by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies after being observed taking photographs and monitoring security measures at the golf course around 3:30 pm on Sunday.
The incident took place as Trump was set to hold a Republican National Committee fundraising dinner at the same golf club in the Rancho Palos Verdes neighborhood on Tuesday. During the arrest, authorities discovered a loaded magazine in Taele’s pocket, as reported by the LA Times. Further investigation led to the finding of a loaded pistol and additional ammunition inside his vehicle parked at the location.
Upon searching Taele’s residence in Downey, California, police uncovered more weapons and ammunition, including a .45 caliber pistol, body armor, and high-capacity magazines. Additionally, law enforcement discovered several notebooks containing concerning statements and two radio devices at his property.
Taele was taken into custody on suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm and possessing illegal ammunition, such as hollow point bullets. Authorities have reassured the public that there is currently no credible threat to the community as they conduct an ongoing investigation. Moreover, the 38-year-old is also being investigated in connection with a robbery in the nearby El Segundo area.
