Shocking new video footage has emerged depicting a group of thieves attempting to steal a cash machine using a hammer in Teddington, southwest London. The incident, captured by a witness on her mobile phone early on Wednesday morning, shows four men towing the ATM with an abandoned vehicle. One of the men is seen in CCTV footage trying to break the machine with a hammer before attaching leads to it with the help of an accomplice.
The thieves then swiftly drive away, forcefully detaching the cash machine from its position on the pavement, causing sparks to fly. Despite the bold theft, no arrests have been made yet. However, the police have taken possession of the suspected getaway vehicle and are actively searching for the four individuals involved.
A local resident, who initially mistook the scene for a car crash, expressed surprise at the attempted theft. The Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed the ongoing investigation into the incident and urged anyone with information to contact the authorities.
