A tragic incident unfolded at the Kendal Calling music festival in Cumbria, where a 17-year-old girl sadly passed away after experiencing a medical emergency. Emergency services, including police and paramedics, responded to the festival grounds at 2:13am upon receiving reports of the girl’s distress. Despite their immediate intervention, which included administering CPR, the girl was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The family of the deceased has been notified and is currently receiving support from specialized officers. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the girl’s death are ongoing, with authorities seeking information from individuals who were in the vicinity of the ‘Calling Out’ tent and the ‘Big Wheel’ within the festival site around 2:00am. Specifically, the police are eager to speak with a group of women who raised concerns about the girl’s well-being and alerted first responders.
Expressing deep sorrow, a spokesperson for Kendal Calling conveyed their sadness over the tragic event and affirmed their cooperation with the investigative process. They emphasized that immediate assistance was provided by on-site security and medical teams as soon as the girl fell ill, with paramedics and medical personnel exerting every effort to aid her.
