The airplane was conducting a sightseeing flight over the renowned Nazca Lines, ancient geoglyphs etched into the Nazca desert centuries ago by the Indigenous people of Peru. The flight, operated by Aerodiana, departed from Ica and catered to tourists wanting a unique aerial view of the intricate designs.
Peru’s Ministry for Trade and Tourism reported that the ill-fated plane carried 11 foreign tourists and two crew members, including passengers from Germany, Spain, and Italy. The authorities in Peru have initiated an investigation into the incident.
