Police have officially identified the human remains discovered in a river in Devon as those of Taylor Charlton, a teenager who had been reported missing. Taylor, who was 14 years old when he went missing in Barnstaple on May 8, triggered a large-scale search effort.
Authorities expressed gratitude for the immense support from the local community during the search for Taylor. Volunteers alongside law enforcement personnel worked diligently to locate him. Unfortunately, Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that the remains found in the River Taw on June 24 were positively identified as Taylor’s.
A 20-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of murder on June 12 but was later released on bail as investigations progressed. Subsequently, a woman in her 40s was also arrested on suspicion of murder on July 2 and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
