Residents of Southport commemorated the tragic incident that took the lives of three children two years ago. The community observed a three-minute silence at the town hall gardens to honor the memory of Alice da Silva Aguiar, Bebe King, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, who lost their lives during a Taylor Swift-themed dance class on July 29, 2024. Additionally, eight children, the dance teacher, and a businessman sustained physical injuries in the attack.
During the solemn moment of silence, individuals from various sectors, including the public, Sefton Council, and Merseyside Police, paid their respects to the victims and survivors. Merseyside Police, in a social media statement with a pink background, expressed heartfelt sentiments for the lives lost and affected by the tragedy.
Rather than leaving floral tributes, the public was encouraged to donate to local causes in remembrance of the deceased children. Following the tragedy, foundations were established in memory of Alice, Bebe, and Elsie, aiming to continue their legacies by supporting young dancers and grieving children through creative sessions.
