Efforts involving over 500 firefighters, specialized wildfire equipment, all-terrain vehicles, and helicopter water-bombing operations have been pivotal in combating the blaze in difficult terrain. Deputy assistant chief officer Kenny Barbour acknowledged the complexity of the situation due to dry conditions, winds, and inaccessible fire zones.
As the situation remains critical, public cooperation and adherence to safety measures advised by authorities are crucial. Swinney urged compliance with exclusion zones and highlighted the impact of changing weather patterns on firefighting operations.
