“Trump Considers Major Military Action in Iran”

President Trump is contemplating resuming significant military actions in Iran, as reported by news outlet Axios. The President mentioned considering a “massive attack” that would surpass previous actions and indicated being on the verge of a decision. According to Axios, Trump stated that the Iranians expressed a willingness to engage in negotiations but were not prepared to reach an agreement yet, as they had not experienced sufficient pressure.

This development coincides with a rise in the deployment of US military forces to the Middle East, with additional US Special Forces and fighter jet squadrons being sent to the region.

The Houthis, a militant group aligned with Iran, carried out attacks on two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea following their announcement of a blockade on the Bab al Mandeb Strait. These attacks have led to a surge in oil prices, crossing the $100 per barrel mark for the first time since May.

The Bab al Mandeb Strait, a critical passage for oil tankers and cargo ships navigating the Red Sea, was placed under blockade by the Houthis on Tuesday.
