Two tourists were hospitalized following a helicopter crash in China. The helicopter, part of a sightseeing tour, unexpectedly went out of control during a low-altitude flight demonstration. The aircraft crashed into the ground, injuring the spectators, with one person sustaining more severe head injuries.
The incident took place at Chaka Sky No. 1 Scenic Area in Qinghai Province. The injured tourists were promptly taken to Ulan County People’s Hospital before being transferred to a larger medical facility in Haixi Prefecture. Authorities reported that the victims’ conditions were stable upon arrival at the hospital.
Officials from the Ulan County Joint Investigation Group revealed that the crash involved a self-rotating rotorcraft and that two individuals on the ground were harmed. The gyroplane responsible for the accident has been confiscated, and the area has been closed for investigation. Initial findings suggest that wake turbulence from a nearby gyroplane may have contributed to the loss of control.
In a separate aviation incident in China, an influencer tragically lost his life during a livestream when his ultralight aircraft crashed and caught fire in Jiange County. Tang Feiji, the influencer, was well-known for his flying content on social media platforms. Despite efforts to save him, Tang, aged 55, succumbed to his injuries at the crash site.
Prior to the fatal crash, Tang had landed briefly to adjust his camera and then took off again. Notably, he was not wearing any protective gear like a helmet or parachute during the ill-fated flight. The investigation into both aviation accidents remains ongoing.
