“Speedboat Killer Jack Shepherd Facing New Assault Charges”

Speedboat killer Jack Shepherd is facing charges related to an assault on his new girlfriend, as revealed in recently released parole board documents. The woman, identified as Ms X and believed to be in her 50s, has accused Shepherd of two counts of ABH, criminal damage, intentional suffocation, and controlling and coercive behavior.

Shepherd, now 38 years old, had previously fled to Georgia while awaiting sentencing for the manslaughter of Charlotte Brown, who tragically died in a speedboat accident on the River Thames during their first date. Following his release on license after serving a ten-year sentence, Shepherd breached his conditions and was subsequently recalled to prison.

Details of his recall were undisclosed until now, with a report recommending that Shepherd’s future parole hearing be conducted publicly. The report indicates that Shepherd changed his name and began a relationship with Ms X while residing in approved premises. Despite being informed of Shepherd’s past under “Claire’s Law,” the relationship turned violent and coercive, leading to Shepherd’s arrest for controlling and coercive behavior.

Shepherd’s bail was revoked in September 2025 due to breaches, and he is now detained in custody. His upcoming parole hearing is set to be a public face-to-face session, where Ms X may provide evidence. The parole board is considering the new charges against Shepherd before deciding on the hearing’s public nature.

Shepherd had fled to Georgia and started a romantic relationship with TV reporter Maiko Tchanturidze to avoid trial in the UK. After surrendering himself, he served his sentence, but his relationship with Maiko ended in 2023.
