“Four Teens Charged in Weston-Super-Mare Rape Case”

Four teenagers have been charged following a serious rape investigation involving a woman who was allegedly sexually assaulted at a residence in Weston-Super-Mare. The individuals, aged 19, 18, and two 17-year-olds, were arrested and charged by Avon and Somerset Police after a dedicated inquiry into the offense.

The incident, which reportedly occurred on June 21, involved the woman being threatened and raped at the property where she was purportedly held against her will. Tommy Campbell, 19, faces multiple charges including rape, sexual assault, false imprisonment, and assault causing bodily harm. Rio Welling, 18, has been charged with rape and false imprisonment.

Due to their age, the two 17-year-old boys have not been named. One of them is facing charges of rape, false imprisonment, and assault causing bodily harm, while the other has been charged with rape and assault causing bodily harm.

All four suspects have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear at Taunton Magistrates’ Court later today. Detective Inspector Natalie Thatcher emphasized the gravity of the investigation, highlighting the support provided to the victim and the coordinated efforts made during the arrests to address community concerns.
