A young child is in critical condition after suffering severe head injuries believed to be caused by forceful shaking, report say. First responders rushed to a residence in Two Rocks, located 38 miles north of Perth, Australia, last Thursday, where they found an 11-month-old baby in a critical state. The infant was quickly transported to Children’s Hospital in Perth for urgent medical treatment.
The infant remains hospitalized in Perth in critical condition, while a 25-year-old man from Two Rocks has been arrested and charged with aggravated grievous bodily harm. According to news.com.au, the man and the infant are related. The man was granted bail on Wednesday at Perth Magistrates Court and is scheduled to appear again on July 29.
The man’s identity has not been disclosed at this time.
