“NATO Fighter Jet Makes Emergency Landing in Greece”

An emergency landing was executed by a NATO fighter jet at a Greek airport after it caught fire during a training mission. The F-16 aircraft, part of the 116th Fighter Wing at Araxos, landed safely at Zakynthos (Zante) Airport following an in-flight fire indication on Thursday afternoon. Fortunately, the pilot emerged unscathed and in good health after the emergency landing. The Air Force General Staff initially reported that the F-16 was on a training mission over the wider Ionian Sea area before diverting to the airport.

Local reports confirmed that the runway has been closed as emergency services respond to the situation. Firefighters are currently on-site, and flight operations have been suspended. The Air Force is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
