“Brave Boy Recovers After Crocodile Attack”

The parents of a young child who was reportedly thrown into a crocodile enclosure shared that he recently underwent his sixth surgery and skin graft procedures. The three-year-old remains in stable condition at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, showing signs of progress after the traumatic incident where he was attacked by one or more crocodiles. Despite limited movement in some fingers, the family expressed relief as the boy started smiling again.

In an update on GoFundMe, the parents mentioned that their son successfully underwent surgery, including skin grafts on his left arm, which are now healing well. They praised the hospital staff for their efforts in keeping the child happy, even dressing up as superheroes to lift his spirits.

The boy, whose identity has not been disclosed, sustained injuries at Johnsons of Old Hurst in Cambridgeshire on June 18. The owners of the zoo, Andy and Tracey Johnson, along with their son Edward, bravely intervened to rescue him from the crocodile enclosure. A 30-year-old man from Norfolk was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but was later released on bail due to his incapacity for questioning.

An online fundraiser has garnered over £62,000 to aid in the boy’s recovery and rehabilitation. The parents expressed gratitude for the generous support received, highlighting the child’s bravery and resilience throughout the ordeal. While the external wounds are healing well, concerns remain about nerve and tendon damage, which will require an extended period for recovery.

Addenbrooke’s Hospital is under scrutiny for a breach of the child’s medical records, with 40 staff members allegedly accessing the information. The hospital has initiated an investigation into the incident to determine the legitimacy of the record access.
