A British tourist was taken into custody after allegedly trying to kiss a flight attendant on the neck while en route to Spain. Police intervened upon the arrival of his Ryanair flight from London Stansted in Mallorca, detaining him at the request of the cabin crew member who wished to press charges.
The 30-year-old individual was said to be heavily intoxicated and causing disturbances onboard the aircraft. The pilot alerted authorities at Palma Airport before landing, seeking police intervention for the reported incident.
Initially hesitant to file a formal complaint, the flight attendant eventually decided to provide a statement to law enforcement. Meanwhile, the tourist, who had been identified but evaded immediate arrest due to the attendant’s initial reluctance to press charges, had disembarked the plane and cleared passport control.
Subsequently, he was apprehended while trying to board his return flight and brought before a court. Following a court appearance, he was released on bail pending further investigation into the incident that occurred on June 29.
The individual, who remained unnamed, was seen escorted by Civil Guard officers in court attire. It remains uncertain whether he remains in Mallorca or has departed the island on another flight.
Efforts to obtain comments on the matter have been made to Ryanair and the Spanish Civil Guard by The Mirror.
