“McEnroe Leaves BBC Commentary Mid-Match at Wimbledon”

John McEnroe had to leave his BBC commentary duty during Arthur Fery’s match against Grigor Dimitrov. Fery, the lone British player in the men’s singles second week, won the first set but eventually lost to Dimitrov in the following sets.

McEnroe left the commentary box when Fery took a prolonged break after the second set. Cotter announced McEnroe’s departure, citing contractual obligations to cover Taylor Fritz’s matches.

Fritz, the only American left in the draw, was set to face Alexander Bublik in a challenging fourth-round encounter on Court 1. Fritz expressed readiness to face either Bublik or Frances Tiafoe, praising both players’ skills on grass courts.

Bublik, after a tough match against Tiafoe, faced Fritz and lost the first set in a tie-break on Court 1. The battle for a spot in the quarterfinals intensified as Wimbledon 2026 tickets are already on sale, including VIP access options.
