“Girl mauled by dogs: Community rallies for recovery”

Multiple dogs attacked a 7-year-old girl, causing significant injuries to her scalp and legs, as reported by authorities. The incident occurred on June 27 in the vicinity of Barham Avenue and Bosque Avenue near Corning. The child, named Patricia, was identified by her family. A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated by Patricia’s grandmother, Monica Edmiston, to raise funds for the girl’s recovery.

According to Edmiston, the dogs inflicted severe wounds on Patricia, including ripping off her scalp. Despite the traumatic incident, Patricia’s family has been by her side throughout her hospitalization, even sleeping in their car near the hospital to provide support.

An update on the fundraiser mentioned that Patricia was discharged from the hospital on June 30 and is now back home with her family, although she faces a challenging road to recovery. The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office seized six dogs believed to be involved in the attack for further investigation.

The fundraising campaign has exceeded its initial goal of $3,000, raising over $4,100 to assist Patricia’s family with expenses. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not made any arrests or citations yet. Readers can support Patricia’s family by donating to the GoFundMe page provided.
