“NeeDoh Toy Leak Leaves Girl with Painful Blisters”

A “squishy” NeeDoh toy incident left a seven-year-old girl with painful blisters, according to her mother. The girl did not heat the toy in the microwave as part of a trend but was injured when the toy’s seal broke and leaked liquid onto her hand.

The girl’s mother rushed her to Princess Royal Hospital in Telford, Shropshire, on June 22 after blisters formed on her hands. Following consultation with Birmingham Children’s Hospital, the girl’s wounds were treated, and she returned the next day to have the blisters removed.

The girl is undergoing daily dressing changes for her wounds to heal. Her mother, a support worker from Telford, described the incident where the liquid leaked from the toy and burnt her daughter’s hand while she was at home.

Having sought medical advice promptly, the girl’s injuries were addressed, although the hospital did not have a burns unit. The family was directed to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further treatment. The mother emphasized the importance of vigilance in handling such toys, especially in high-temperature conditions.

Bigjigs Toys, the UK distributor for NeeDoh, stated they are investigating the incident and expressed concern over counterfeit products that may be in circulation, emphasizing the need to verify the authenticity of the toy involved in the incident.
