A driver is missing, and six individuals have been harmed following a seven-truck collision that resulted in a significant explosion. Two trucks crashed on the Hume Highway in Australia, close to Breadalbane in New South Wales [NSW], shortly after 5 am local time on Tuesday, June 30. These two heavy goods vehicles then collided with five other trucks at a stop, leading to a massive explosion. The cargo in each truck created the ideal conditions for a massive blast and subsequent fire, as per a spokesperson from NSW Fire and Rescue who mentioned that one of the trucks was carrying ‘eight tons of butane canisters’. “Another truck was transporting resin, a third had memory foam, and a fourth was loaded with alcohol, contributing to the fire and explosions,” the spokesperson stated. This is an ongoing situation with more updates expected.
