“Trump Orders Airstrikes Following Iran Drone Attack”

Tensions between Iran and the United States escalated as President Donald Trump ordered airstrikes in response to a recent drone attack on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump’s decision came after he was questioned about a potential U.S. retaliation, to which he cryptically responded, “You’ll find out.”

Expressing his displeasure at the previous day’s drone strike, Trump emphasized the need for a firm response, stating, “I don’t like the fact that they took a shot yesterday, actually four of them.” Despite ongoing talks with Iran, Trump highlighted the differences in approach, suggesting a more assertive stance was necessary.

Iran’s Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian parliament’s national security commission, asserted Iran’s authority over the Strait of Hormuz, cautioning the U.S. to adhere to established regulations and avoid escalating the situation unnecessarily. Vice President JD Vance echoed a similar sentiment, emphasizing that while dialogue was preferred, any act of violence would be met with a corresponding response.

In a separate development, ambassadors from Israel and Lebanon unveiled a peace agreement aimed at easing tensions between Israeli forces and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah. Lebanon’s ambassador to the U.S., Nada Hamadeh, hailed the agreement as a step towards restoring peace and enabling Lebanese citizens to live in security and prosperity. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lauded the accord, emphasizing Israel’s commitment to maintaining a security presence in southern Lebanon until Hezbollah’s disarmament.

Meanwhile, the British military reported an incident where a container ship was struck by a projectile near Oman, shortly after Iran issued warnings to vessels using the route. Thankfully, there were no casualties reported, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations center.
