“Urgent Baby Product Recalls: Crib and Snowsuit Safety Concerns”

A widely used portable crib has been urgently recalled due to significant safety concerns, potentially leading to severe harm or fatality for infants. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) issued a recall for the 5-in-1 nursery center portable cot, which serves as a bassinet, bed, sleeper, baby crib, activity center, and changing table. This cot, available for purchase on Amazon and Costway Wholesale, poses entrapment and suffocation risks, potentially resulting in serious injuries or death if an infant is placed inside the product.

According to the ACCC, the cot fails to meet the mandatory standard for infant sleep products, increasing the danger of entrapment or suffocation, with reported incidents. Parents are urged to verify the model number or SKU of their cot to confirm if it matches SKU: BB0505. If you have a portacot with the mentioned SKU, it is advised to discontinue use immediately and return it to the original seller for a complimentary replacement.

Additionally, a baby snowsuit has also been withdrawn from shelves due to a hazardous defect. The quilted snow suits, featuring pink florals and cream bears, were sold nationwide both online and in Best and Less stores between April 16 and June 11. These suits were recalled due to issues with the snap fasteners, which may detach during use, posing a choking hazard to children if swallowed.

The affected SKUs for the snowsuits are 1922326, 1922327, 1922328, 1922329, 1922330, 1922331, 1922334, 1922335, 1922336, 1922337, 1922338, and 1922339. Consumers are advised to cease using the snowsuits immediately and ensure they are kept away from children. Customers impacted by the recall can return the snowsuits to any Best and Less store for a full refund.
