“Man Arrested in Budapest for Hoarding Human Body Parts”

Police in Budapest, Hungary, have apprehended a 30-year-old man who allegedly amassed human body parts from deserted cemeteries and his workplace at a hospital. The arrest occurred on June 17 following a tipoff to investigators about the man storing these body parts at his places of work and residence.

Upon searching the suspect’s apartment, detectives from Hungary’s National Bureau of Investigation uncovered a disturbing assortment of body parts, bones, and skin. The seized items included skulls, a complete lower leg, a hand, a human facial reconstruction made from facial skin, and various bones stored in a suitcase. Notably, a heart preserved in a jar was also discovered, with authorities still determining its origin.

During questioning, the man confessed to collecting the body parts, expressing a particular fascination with human anatomy. Additionally, he disclosed a macabre habit of preparing and consuming food made from these body parts. The suspect is presently detained on suspicion of illicit use of human remains.

Law enforcement revealed that the man exhibited a keen interest in anatomy, pathology, and animal dissection, speculating that he procured the body parts through his hospital employment and by exhuming bodies from abandoned cemeteries in Slovakia and Hungary. Authorities confiscated the suspect’s electronic devices for further investigation.

All retrieved body parts will undergo forensic examination to ascertain their source, potentially leading to an expansion of the scope of charges.
