“Tragic Collision in Newry: Five-Year-Old Girl Killed”

A tragic incident occurred in Newry, Northern Ireland, where a five-year-old girl lost her life after a collision with a van. The collision involving a black Ford Tourneo van and the child took place in the Springfarm Heights area. The young girl was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.

Following the incident, a 40-year-old woman, the driver of the van, was arrested at the scene. Detective Inspector Stewart from the Police Service’s Collision Investigation Unit confirmed the arrest and stated that the driver remains in custody as investigations into the collision continue. As a result of the tragic event, the Carnagat Road remains closed at its junctions with Springfarm Heights and Stony Hill.
