“US and Iran Sign Peace Deal; 60-Day Deadline Set”

The United States and Iran have formally agreed to a memorandum of understanding to bring an end to the conflict, as confirmed by two high-ranking American officials. The peace deal was signed electronically, and the agreement is now in effect. Iran has a 60-day period to demonstrate its commitment to peace and a willingness to change its behavior post-signing with the US. Both countries will engage in negotiations to address significant issues, including the status of the Strait of Hormuz for maritime traffic, the allocation of a $300 billion fund for Iran’s reconstruction, among others. The complete memorandum of understanding (MOU) was disclosed on Wednesday, outlining the framework for the forthcoming two months of discussions between the US, Iran, and Tehran, with the US aiming to achieve nuclear disarmament. President Trump cautioned Tehran’s leaders to adhere to the terms of the agreement, warning of a resumption of hostilities and the continued dismantling of the Islamic Republic otherwise. Stay tuned for updates.
