A tragic incident occurred in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, where a 16-year-old girl lost her life after being struck by a silver Ford Fiesta. The collision took place on Lobley Hill Road near Schoolhouse Lane around 10:40 pm on Friday, June 12.
Paramedics attended to the girl at the scene and rushed her to the hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries shortly after. Following the incident, a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. However, he has since been released on police bail while further investigations are ongoing.
