Isack Hadjar lost his first Red Bull podium finish post the Monaco Grand Prix as Alpine successfully appealed. Pierre Gasly’s two five-second penalties during the race were overturned by the stewards, restoring him to third place and moving Hadjar to fourth in the standings. Gasly was penalized for speeding in the pit lane, despite claiming he activated his speed limiter in time. Alpine lodged a Right of Review request with the FIA immediately after the race, leading to a hearing in Barcelona where new evidence was presented by Formula One Management showing inaccuracies in speed measurements. Gasly’s penalties were repealed as Alpine was the only team to request a review. The stewards confirmed Gasly’s third-place finish was reinstated after a second hearing on Thursday. Alpine expressed gratitude for the FIA’s transparency and cooperation throughout the process. Gasly’s penalties were overturned after it was determined that he did not exceed the pit lane speed limit. Despite the timing system error affecting multiple drivers, Gasly was the only one to have his penalties rescinded. Other penalties remained unchanged as they had been served and no other team appealed. The stewards clarified that penalties already served cannot be undone, and no other team sought a Right of Review within the allowed timeframe.
