Detailing the sequence of events leading to the tragedy, Robbie explained how a simple game of fetch with a tennis ball for their pet dog turned into a devastating turn of events. Gareth’s attempt to retrieve the ball from the sea led to a chain of unfortunate events that resulted in his sudden drowning in a deep and treacherous section of the water.
The community rallied together in the search efforts for Gareth and the dog, eventually finding the dog on Brighton Beach and Gareth’s body miles away at Tide Mills.
