Burnham, on the other hand, confirmed his intent to enter a leadership race pending his return to Parliament, contingent on securing the support of 81 fellow MPs.
Former Health Secretary Wes Streeting has already declared his candidacy, but Prime Minister expressed his resolve to remain in office, emphasizing the need to focus on governing rather than internal party conflicts. The PM cautioned against distractions from vital national decisions due to potential party upheavals, underscoring the critical nature of the current global landscape.
