“Passenger Bites Officer in Airport Disturbance”

A police officer was reportedly bitten by a passenger who caused a disturbance on an airplane by refusing to pay for excess baggage. The woman defied airline staff instructions to board a JetSmart flight after her carry-on bag was found to be overweight.

Instead of resolving the issue at the gate, she managed to sneak past checks and board flight JA 3104 just before it was scheduled to leave Buenos Aires for Cordoba. Airport police were called to remove her from the aircraft, leading to a struggle inside the cabin. During the altercation, the passenger allegedly bit a female officer on the right arm in front of other passengers.

Passenger videos captured the chaotic scene as officers tried to restrain the woman inside the cabin, receiving applause once she was finally escorted off the plane. The incident occurred at Jorge Newbery Airpark in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Tuesday, with the woman receiving minor medical treatment after her arrest.

The flight experienced a brief delay before taking off. JetSmart had been conducting rigorous hand-luggage checks at the gate, including asking passengers to remove jackets to prevent concealed items. The airline has not made any public statements regarding the incident.

Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Federal Court No. 3 has ordered the woman’s detention and has gathered statements from the injured officer, a shift supervisor, and JetSmart crew members who witnessed the event. No formal charges have been announced yet, and the case is still under judicial review.
