Donald Trump expressed confidence in the face of rising oil prices, stating that concerns over Iran’s nuclear ambitions are driving willingness to pay more. In a recent interview with CNBC, the US President nonchalantly dismissed the potential collapse of peace talks with Iran, saying he was indifferent and found the negotiations tedious.
Regarding the surge in oil prices following reports of Iran withdrawing from peace discussions, Trump remained optimistic, predicting a swift decline in prices once the situation is clarified as related to Iran’s nuclear aspirations. He emphasized that people are understanding and accepting the temporary price increase.
Addressing speculations about Iran cutting off communication with the US and threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz due to Israel’s actions in Lebanon, Trump mentioned his intention to inquire about the situation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Multiple Israeli media outlets reported that Trump and Netanyahu had a phone conversation on Monday afternoon.
