Body of Missing College Student Found in Lincoln Waterway

A deceased individual has been discovered during the search for a college student who went missing following a night out.

The missing individual, Connor Calleja, a 20-year-old student enrolled at Lincoln University, was last captured on surveillance footage walking along University Bridge in Lincoln during the early hours of Sunday. After being denied entry to the nightclub Home, he was trying to return to his place of residence, as mentioned by his stepfather, John Lewis.

In a saddening development today, Lincolnshire Police reported the discovery of a body in the Foss bank area, a body of water near The Brayford Pool. A representative for the police force stated: “Although formal identification is pending, we believe this to be the body of 20-year-old Connor.”

The spokesperson continued: “His relatives have been notified and are receiving assistance from specially trained personnel. No foul play is suspected. We kindly request that the public and media respect the family’s privacy during this challenging period.”

The police expressed gratitude to all who shared the appeal and provided information to assist in the search.

The University of Lincoln and Lincoln Students’ Union previously announced their commitment to supporting students impacted by Connor’s disappearance.
