Alleged Montreal Crime Figure Seeking Bail

A man, known by the aliases Tupac and Kim Jong-Un, with suspected connections to the Montreal underworld, is seeking bail a year after being arrested for allegedly aiding accused cocaine kingpin Ryan Wedding in planning the murder of an FBI informant. Atna Ohna, identified as a hitman for Wedding’s alleged drug-smuggling network, is set to appear in Quebec Superior Court in Montreal for a two-day hearing starting Wednesday. U.S. federal prosecutors are pushing for Ohna’s extradition to Los Angeles to face conspiracy charges involving murder, drug trafficking, and witness tampering.

Montreal police have labeled Ohna as one of the prominent organized crime figures in the city. Court documents reveal that Ohna made various attempts to assist in locating the target of Wedding’s supposed murder scheme. One effort involved seeking help from an acquaintance, informing her that Wedding would finance plastic surgery procedures for her.

Reports indicate that Ohna received $150,000 in cash, along with 30 kilograms of cocaine and a valuable red necklace, for his role in tracking down the victim, Jonathan Acebedo-Garcia. The former associate turned FBI informant was fatally shot in the head while dining in Medellin, Colombia, in January 2025.

A U.S. grand jury has indicted Wedding, Ohna, and others, including a self-proclaimed “cocaine lawyer,” a crime blogger, and an escort service operator, for their alleged involvement in orchestrating the assassination.

Ohna, also known as Onha at times, has been in custody in Quebec since his arrest last year as part of an FBI-led operation targeting Wedding and his associates. Ohna’s lawyer, Danièle Roy, has not responded to requests for comments on the accusations against her client.

In a separate incident, Quebec Superior Court was presented with a police surveillance photo showing Ohna meeting high-ranking organized crime figures, including Hells Angels members, in a Laval park in May 2020.

Former Montreal police commander Minh Tri Truong disclosed that there have been multiple assassination attempts on Ohna, with warnings issued to him on several occasions.

According to court documents, Ohna, also known as Tupac, had previously worked for Wedding. A co-operating witness is expected to testify that Ohna carried out a killing in November 2023 on behalf of Wedding, targeting an unnamed rival gang member. The court documents detail the shooting of Hells Angels-affiliated crime boss Gregory Woolley in November 2023.

U.S. authorities allege that Wedding and his associate, Andrew Clark, led a network of contract killers to eliminate perceived rivals of their multimillion-dollar cocaine enterprise. Wedding, a former Olympic snowboarder for Team Canada, was apprehended in Mexico and faces charges related to cocaine export conspiracy and murder. He is scheduled to face trial next year.

The case involves complex dynamics, with Clark, known as The Dictator, cooperating as an FBI informant post-arrest. Ohna’s involvement in obtaining information on the 2025 murder victim Acebedo-Garcia through connections is also highlighted in court records.

Acebedo-Garcia reportedly acknowledged his collaboration with the FBI to Ohna before being fatally shot multiple times in January 2025. The shooter, believed to be associated with a Colombian crime syndicate once linked to Pablo Escobar, remains unidentified.

The investigation continues, with ongoing legal proceedings shedding light on the intricate web of criminal activities involving Wedding, Ohna, and their associates.
