The latest data from Statistics Canada reveals that the national inflation rate increased to 3.1% in September. This rise was primarily driven by higher gasoline prices, although food prices also saw an uptick, albeit at a slower rate compared to the previous month. Prior to the release of this information, a survey conducted by Bloomberg involving 12 economists had predicted a slightly higher year-over-year increase in the September consumer price index at 3.18%.
