“Maple Leafs’ Tavares Sidelined: Up to 6 Weeks”

The Maple Leafs face another setback as John Tavares is sidelined due to a lower-body injury. The team confirmed the news ahead of their game against the New York Islanders, stating that Tavares will be out on a week-to-week basis, potentially missing up to six weeks. Tavares, who has recorded two goals and five assists in seven games this season, sustained the injury during a collision with Buffalo Sabres’ Josh Norris in a recent game at Scotiabank Arena.

This injury compounds Toronto’s challenges, as they are already without veteran defenseman Chris Tanev, who is also sidelined week-to-week with an upper-body injury suffered in a previous game against the Colorado Avalanche.
