Simple Plan, the Canadian rock band, is set to launch a new picture book titled “I’m Just A Kid.” Scheduled for release on March 9, 2027, the book is inspired by the band’s hit song of the same name.
“I’m Just A Kid” narrates the band’s journey, tracing back to their modest beginnings at a school talent show. Illustrated by Jomike Tejido from the Philippines, the book emphasizes the significance of friendship and perseverance in chasing their aspirations and supporting each other.
Expressing their excitement, Simple Plan mentioned that as parents, reading bedtime stories to their children has been a cherished tradition. They described the process of writing the book as enjoyable and fulfilling, expressing pride in the final outcome.
Established in Montreal in 1999, Simple Plan has a successful track record with over 10 million albums sold. Recognized for hit tracks like “Welcome to My Life,” “Perfect,” and “Jet Lag,” the band’s current lineup consists of Pierre Bouvier, Chuck Comeau, Jeff Stinco, and Sébastien Lefebvre.
Chuck Comeau, a member of the band, endorsed “Homes” by Abu Bakr al Rabeeah and Winnie Yeung during Canada Reads 2019.
The launch of “I’m Just A Kid” coincides with the 25th anniversary of Simple Plan’s debut album, “No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls!,” honoring the band’s legacy and the dedicated fan base that has supported them throughout the years.
Reflecting on their journey, Simple Plan acknowledged the impact their music had on fans during their teenage years, helping them navigate challenging times. They expressed gratitude for the opportunity to connect with fans in a new light as they embark on parenthood.
To give back, the band has pledged to donate $1 from each sale of “I’m Just A Kid” to the Simple Plan Foundation, which aids charitable organizations supporting youth in need.
