Canada’s men’s national soccer team will be missing key players for upcoming friendly matches in Toronto and Montreal. Captain Alphonso Davies and goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau are not included in the 26-player roster revealed by head coach Jesse Marsch. Davies, a standout player from Bayern Munich, is unavailable due to his marriage celebrations and honeymoon, while Crepeau from Orlando City has personal matters preventing his participation. Additionally, center back Moise Bombito will be absent as he undergoes another surgery on his left tibia following his efforts at the recent FIFA World Cup.
Marsch’s squad comprises 17 players who were part of the national team’s remarkable World Cup journey, culminating in a historic run before being knocked out by Morocco in the Round of 16. Canada, currently ranked 30th globally, is scheduled to play against Chile (ranked 49th) in Toronto on September 26 and Peru (ranked 50th) in Montreal on October 3. Subsequently, they will face the United States, ranked 16th, in St. Paul, Minnesota, on October 6.
