Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime faced a 6-3, 6-4 defeat against American Frances Tiafoe in the fourth round of the Cincinnati Open on Wednesday evening. Despite serving 13 aces, the second-seeded Canadian struggled with 37 unforced errors, while Tiafoe, seeded 17th, committed only 16 unforced errors and secured the win in one hour and 40 minutes.
In the doubles third-round match, Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski and Barbora Krejcikova of Czechia were defeated 6-3, 1-6, 10-7 by the Czech pair of Linda Noskova and Marie Bouzkova. Dabrowski, hailing from Ottawa, typically partners with Luisa Stefani, but due to Stefani’s ongoing elbow injury, she played with Krejcikova in this tournament.
