Actor Dylan Walsh, known for his role in “Heated Rivalry,” caused a stir by hinting at the potential production of twelve new episodes for the popular hockey romance series. The 62-year-old American actor shared this information in a video on Cameo, where fans speculated that multiple seasons might be in the pipeline based on his remarks.
In the video, Walsh, who portrays the father of hockey player Shane Hollander (played by Canadian actor Hudson Williams), expressed his fondness for the show and hinted at the filming of additional episodes in Canada. However, following the video’s release, Walsh issued an apology and temporarily suspended his Cameo account, clarifying that his comments were speculative and lacking official confirmation.
Despite the buzz generated by Walsh’s revelation, the show’s representatives have not responded to inquiries regarding his statements. Walsh, who has also appeared in renowned TV series like “Nip/Tuck” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” as well as movies such as “Congo” and “The Stepfather,” expressed gratitude for the enthusiasm surrounding “Heated Rivalry.”
The speculations sparked by Walsh’s video led fans to theorize about ongoing production for both the second and a potential third season of the series. The first season of “Heated Rivalry,” consisting of six episodes, received critical acclaim and numerous awards, including a Peabody Award and a Canadian Screen Award for best drama series.
Filming for the second season is predominantly taking place in Toronto and Montreal, according to industry sources. Additionally, the show recently announced five new cast members for the upcoming season, generating further excitement among fans and industry followers.
