A significant logistics center belonging to Wildberries, often referred to as Russia’s Amazon, was the target of a devastating drone strike in Ukraine. The strike, which occurred in Ryazan, southeast of Moscow, also caused a fire at a key oil refinery previously impacted by other attacks.
In addition to the assault in Ryazan, drones targeted the strategic port of Taganrog in southern Russia, resulting in casualties and fires in Kerch near the Crimean end of a crucial bridge connecting the Black Sea peninsula to Russia.
The Ukrainian attacks on Wildberries facilities intensified following a meeting between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky, with Ukraine seeking enhanced air defense capabilities. The destruction of the Wildberries warehouse, one of the largest in Russia, led to injuries and significant financial losses.
Reports indicate that Ukraine has targeted and damaged multiple Wildberries logistics sites this month, with claims that the retailer supplies the Russian military. Wildberries is now urgently seeking alternative warehouse locations in neighboring Kazakhstan due to the threat posed to its business model and supplies.
The strikes by Ukraine coincided with the US Senate’s approval of strict sanctions against the Putin regime, signaling growing international pressure. Ukrainian President Zelensky expressed a desire for peace, contrasting with Putin’s alleged intentions to escalate the conflict by mobilizing additional troops.
Amid mounting opposition within Russia, Putin’s allies dismissed claims of a mass mobilization as propaganda aimed at destabilizing the country ahead of elections. Despite denials, intelligence suggests Putin may be considering a large-scale draft to offset significant military losses.
Zelensky believes that Putin’s inner circle is divided on how to proceed with the war, reflecting growing dissent and uncertainty within Russia regarding the ongoing conflict.
