A young woman, identified as Sukanya Thawichokkamthon, aged 30, was found deceased in a river in Thailand after a night out. The body was discovered by a fisherman on a raft along the River Kwai. Authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
Initial reports from officers who arrived at the scene indicated no signs of physical harm on the victim, though a small packet of white powder was allegedly found on her person. The body of the deceased mother was recovered on July 22.
Sukanya had taken a ride-hailing service to the Somdet Phra Sangharaja Yannasangwon Bridge, where she was dropped off late at night. The driver mentioned that she appeared to be searching for someone or something before leaving the vehicle in Kanchanaburi, Thailand. She was not seen again until her body was located.
DNA tests were used to confirm the victim’s identity after her sister assisted the authorities with identification. Sukanya’s family has expressed skepticism about the possibility of her taking her own life, emphasizing her role as a dedicated mother to her child.
Investigators are awaiting the results of a complete post-mortem examination, while surveillance footage from the vicinity is under scrutiny. The authorities are also working to locate her missing bag and mobile phone.
