“Father Uses App to Rescue Daughter Trapped in Fatal Car Crash”

A father used a mobile app to locate his 16-year-old daughter who was trapped in a car that had veered off the road into a water-filled ditch. The incident occurred near Iwade, Kent, where the girl, along with Adam Dudzinski, 17, and Chloe-Ann Naylor, 16, was in the vehicle that crashed. Tragically, Adam and Chloe-Ann did not survive the accident.

Despite the girl’s phone losing signal, her father utilized the Life360 app to track her latest location. Late on January 3, he discovered the overturned car on Old Ferry Road and promptly alerted emergency services, leading to a swift response from paramedics, firefighters, police, and the coast guard. While the girl was rescued and hospitalized, Adam and Chloe-Ann were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The girl’s father’s use of the Life360 app was pivotal in locating the trio, as their families had reported them missing. The girl revealed to authorities that the crash occurred when Adam failed to navigate a sharp bend in the road, causing the car to slide off the road and into the ditch. Investigations indicated that Adam, who lacked a driving license and insurance, may have been driving too fast for the road conditions.

During the ordeal, the surviving girl recounted how Chloe-Ann’s actions gave her the strength to unfasten her seatbelt, with Chloe-Ann trying to keep Adam afloat in the water. Despite desperate attempts to contact help, the situation worsened, leading to the tragic loss of both Adam and Chloe-Ann.

Following the accident, tributes were left at the site, and fundraising efforts raised over £15,000 for the families of Chloe and Adam. The coroner expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and deemed the deaths accidental, acknowledging the profound impact on all involved.
