Security camera footage captured the dramatic moment a car went airborne and crashed into the side of a residence, landing on the house of a 70-year-old woman who was inside watching TV. Despite the severity of the incident, the elderly Australian woman miraculously escaped unharmed.
The video, recorded by a neighbor’s surveillance system, shows a Holden Commodore, equivalent to a Vauxhall VXR8 in the UK, veering off the road, propelling through the air, and ultimately colliding with the roof of the home, causing damage to the property’s structure.
Although the vehicle gained significant altitude during the Wednesday night collision, most of the impact was concentrated on the side of the house located in Perth, Western Australia. The homeowner recounted to Perth’s 9News that she was in her living room when the car forcefully struck her property.
Following the crash, a 22-year-old woman reportedly fled the scene but was later apprehended by the authorities in a nearby residence. She faces charges of reckless driving and evading providing information to the police. The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment. Her court appearance at the Midland Magistrates Court is scheduled for a later date.
