A father decided to leave his high-paying job in the United States to move to Yorkshire, England, with his family. Tom Bateman, 35, and his wife Brittany, 36, had been living in the US for 17 years but felt a strong pull to raise their four children in England.
Tom used to work in corporate marketing, earning over $200,000 (£150,000) per year at the peak of his career. However, he felt confined by his success and yearned for British wit and humor.
Seeking a closer connection to family, Tom made a significant career shift by accepting a job teaching bike lessons for kids in Bradford, alongside his father, for £30,000 annually. The couple embraced a simpler lifestyle in England, willing to adjust to a lower income after selling off their possessions in the US.
