A tragic accident in Glenagle, Queensland, Australia, left a young child with severe injuries and two others hurt, as confirmed by local authorities. The incident occurred at a major junction on Mount Lindesay Highway and Gould Hill Road, involving a collision between two cars at around 2:14 pm on Monday.

Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, where four individuals were affected. The injured child, described as being of primary school age, sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital. Additionally, a 56-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl, also involved in the crash, were transported to hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the accident, investigators are looking into the circumstances that led to the collision. Initial reports suggest that a Subaru Impreza traveling southbound collided with a Nissan Qashqai, driven by the 56-year-old woman, which carried the critically injured child. The driver of the Subaru, a 52-year-old man, was from a nearby area.

The Mount Lindesay Highway, a vital route in Australia’s national highway network connecting Brisbane to New South Wales, was temporarily closed in both directions at the accident site. CCTV images captured after the crash revealed a significant presence of emergency services and debris on the road.
