A man, Joshua Moore, has received a prison term for a violent attack involving multiple stabbings and kicking a woman in the face, despite attempting to escape justice by fleeing the area and changing his appearance.
The incident took place in Sturminster Newton on September 30, 2025, where Moore assaulted a woman he knew, causing bruising around her right eye. A male friend of the victim, in his 30s, intervened and was stabbed with a four-inch lock knife, sustaining three wounds before being hospitalized.
After fleeing the scene, Moore was located at a hotel in Petersfield, Hampshire, on October 2, having altered his blond hair to jet black. He was arrested, charged, and later found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and assault by beating. Moore, residing in Weymouth, was sentenced to five years in prison on June 5, 2026.
Detective Constable Emma Oram of Dorset County CID emphasized the severity of the assault, highlighting the potential fatal consequences. The police’s thorough investigation led to Moore’s apprehension despite his attempts to evade capture, underscoring their commitment to combat knife-related crimes.
