The incident resulted in injuries to multiple Lufthansa employees at Germany’s main airport. An airline spokesperson informed the news agency that the aircraft’s front landing gear collapsed unexpectedly while parked. The incident occurred with crew and ground staff present, but before passengers had boarded. Several employees sustained injuries and are presently undergoing medical treatment.
Subsequently, Flight LH450 from Frankfurt to Los Angeles, scheduled for departure at 1:50pm CEST (12:50pm BST) today, was canceled following the event. The Dreamliner with registration D-ABPQ suffered considerable damage during the nosedive onto the runway while stationed at the gate, as reported by Frankfurter Rundschau.
